Step 1: Create a PlayVS Account

Create a PlayVS Account using your school-provided email address during account setup.

Step 2: Complete the Activation Form

The Activation Form can be found here (https://plyvs.com/4qVQsp4).

Once you’ve completed Steps 1 and 2, we’ll do some preliminary work on the back-end adding the appropriate permissions to your PlayVS Account, then you’ll be ready to move on to Initial Setup.

Initial Setup

Step 1: Login.

Login to the Recruit platform (https://recruit.playvs.com/) using the PlayVS Account you created during Onboarding.

Step 2: Connect your Discord.

This is an important step, as it tells Firebot to give you the appropriate permissions during the next step.

Note: If you receive a “Failed to Fetch” error when connecting your Discord on the Recruit platform, please try through the general site:

Visit https://app.playvs.com/ and login.
Go to Account Settings
Click Connections
Find Discord in the list of available connections and connect your account.

Step 3: Join your recruiting server.

Please complete step 2, “Connect Your Discord”, prior to joining your server. This ensures Firebot assigns you the appropriate roles upon joining.

Step 4: Set up your school profile and set your welcome message.

Your welcome message will automatically be sent to potential recruits once you are connected on Discord. It can be a short note or a lengthy one, you can include a link to your own form, etc. Additionally, you can include several predefined qualifiers in your message to pull in other student details and populate a user profile at-a-glance.

Step 5: Create a campaign.

Campaigns pre-qualify potential recruits before connecting them to you.

During campaign creation you identify the type of student you’re looking to connect with based on a variety of factors - GPA, location (state/province), games played, interests, and more.

Step 6: Let us know.

If you have familiarized yourself with the Recruit platform and are ready to start talking to potential recruits, let us know so we can activate your school profile.

You only have to do this step once. Once your school profile has been activated, campaigns will start running immediately after creation.

Connecting With a Student

Once a campaign has been created the platform goes to work behind the scenes, finding students that meet the criteria you’ve set and letting them know you’re interested in connecting with them (and “offer”).

If a student accepts, at this point they’re added into a private channel with you on your recruiting Discord server, and your Welcome Message is sent by Firebot. When this connection happens, during which a student who meets your criteria confirms interest in speaking with you, one of your available Leads is used.

You can also find more information about your connections on the Recruit platform via the Connections tab after logging in.

What happens if a connected student doesn’t join the Discord?

In some cases, a student may accept an offer to connect but miss the step requiring them to join your recruiting server. If this happens, you can contact them directly by viewing their profile on the Connections tab of the Recruit platform.

If you have used all your available leads and are interested in purchasing more, several packages are available. PCL Members receive a discount on all packages.
