The updated Team Captain role makes team management easier than ever. Team Captains are now available for all titles part of Spring 2021 and serve as a way for schools to empower their players to build and manage their own teams. Players will no longer need to be verified by a coach or faculty member before having access to building teams with the Team Captain role.

Here's how it works:

1. Login to PlayVS and click "Manage Teams" in the sidebar

2. Create a new team or join an existing team created by another player

  • The player that creates a team becomes the Team Captain (similar to how creating a lobby in a game makes you the party leader)
  • Team Captains can add and remove players on their teams, or promote a new Team Captain
  • When Players are Team Captain of a team, they can enroll that team without a coach

Core Features For Players

Access Manage Teams

All verified players and coaches/faculty/team coaches will notice a new page located on the side menu titled "Manage Teams." Clicking on this menu title will navigate you to the team builder.

Manage Player-Created Teams

The team builder will now show two sub-headers: Coach-led Teams and Player-led Teams. Player-led teams can be managed just like coach-led teams. As a coach, you may also remove the Team Captain role from a player and assign the Team Captain role to any other player on the roster.
