For the PlayVS Cup, new formats will be used for some title’s matches during the single elimination tournament. While a portion of these are the same as the formats found within rulebooks, there may be slight adjustments for PlayVS Cup specifically.
The game formats found within this article supersede the information inside the individual game title rulebooks. All other game title rules found within each rulebook still apply during the PlayVS Cup tournament.
Roster Locks
On May 13, 2023 at 11:59 PM, all rosters will lock. Once rosters are locked, coaches will not be able to add any new players to their active roster or bench.
Please ensure all players and backups are correctly added to your team’s roster before the lock. If you are having any problems updating your roster, please reach out to support@playvs.com.

This will be a single elimination tournament. All matches will be scheduled for the following start time(with the exception of the Finals which is listed separately):

Format
Each match throughout the bracket and for finals will be a Best-of-5 (Bo5). The team to win 3 matches will be declared the winner.
Series: Best of 5
Format: Standard Conquest
Teams each consist of groups of three (3) players using three (3) different classes each.
Games will be played in Conquest Format, in which each team brings three (3) different classes. A team can only bring one deck for each class. Each player will be the “pilot” of one of the three decks the team brings and compete in a match consisting of a best of 5 game series. The pilot will be in charge of deciding the moves in the game while the other two teammates watch and help with strategy. Teammates will be able to take notes and help the pilot with their decisions during each game. Each time a team wins with a certain class, they will no longer be able to use that class for the remainder of the match.
Cardbacks: For the championship broadcast, cardbacks will be assigned as follows. The Home Team will be able to pick any cardback that is not the default card back. The Away team will be assigned the default cardback.

NBA 2K
Format
This will be a single Best-of-Three (BO3) match. In the event that a single team reaches two game wins before the start of a third game, the third game will not be required to be played.

Splatoon™ 3
Format
Each match throughout the bracket and for finals will be a Best-of-Five (Bo5). The first team to win three games will be declared the winner.

Team Size: 4 vs 4
Best-of-5 Games
The first team to win 3 out of 5 games will win the match. Any remaining games in the series will not need to be played.
In the event one of the below game modes is deactivated by the publisher, play should continue in the intended game order. Circling back to the top of the order in the event the series goes to Game 5.

All Overwatch games will be played on the Live service version of the title currently released at the time of matches.

Matches between each team will be played in a Best of Five (Bo5) format. Winners of each match will advance to the next portion of the bracket

Game Mode Selection
Each match will follow the Game Mode order listed below with the map pool selection listed besides it. Teams MUST follow the Game Mode order, if an incorrect Game Mode is selected for a game, the game must be restarted before a “Game of Record” has been established as per section 1.3 of the Overwatch Youth Program* rulebook. Failure to restart the game with the proper game mode may result in action being taken against the host’s team by League officials.
