Pokémon UNITE is a team-based multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) where players form a team of five Pokémon to compete against an opposing team. The primary goal is to work together with your team to score points into the opponent’s goal zones while defending your own. Matches are fast-paced and require teamwork, map awareness, and strategic decision-making to outplay the opposing team. Players must level up their Pokémon to evolve them and unlock more abilities to secure objectives like wild Pokémon. Effective communication, coordination and adaptability are key to controlling the map and securing objectives in order to achieve victory.

Tournament Mode is the competitive format for Pokémon UNITE, designed to ensure fair and balanced matches. It features:
All held items unlocked and maxed out.
All UNITE licenses (Pokémon) unlocked.
All battle items unlocked.
Boost emblems disabled.
