Middle School Competitive Leagues
Competitive leagues have arrived for our Middle School teams! To start, only specific esports will offer competitive leagues while we evaluate and ensure the best experience possible for our community. Competitive league matches will occur on the same day as their recreational league counterpart.
When enrolling in PlayVS Regional leagues, teams will see multiple league options for the following esports: Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate.
Recreational leagues will have "(Recreational)" at the end of their league display name, and Competitive leagues will have (Competitive) at the end of their display name. Please double-check your enrollments to confirm you are registered for your expected league this season.
Spring Break Reschedule Week
To accommodate the varying spring breaks across competitions, matches scheduled between Monday, March 15th and Thursday, April 1st may be rescheduled up until Wednesday, April 7th.
Teams needing to use this reschedule week for Week 6, 7, or 8 matches must contact PlayVS Support with the agreement between coaches for assistance rescheduling outside of the standard window.
Holiday Reschedules
PlayVS will not proactively reschedule matches occurring on a holiday. Coaches with matches on holidays are encouraged to reach out to their opponent in advance to request a reschedule. Teams joining the queue should prepare to compete remotely in the event their school is closed on match day.

Titles that are updated on a yearly cadence are subject to unique schedules and rulebook changes until the upcoming release date is confirmed by our partners. Esports programs should not purchase these titles until the version used for PlayVS competitions has been confirmed.

Middle School Spring ‘27 Recreational Schedule
All schools will have the opportunity to play up to 11 regular-season matches over 11 weeks. Teams will join the Recreational Queue to compete each week.

Middle School Spring 2027 Competitive Schedule
All schools will play a total of 7 matches over 8 weeks. Schools will select 1 week as part of their Break Week Inclusion. There will be no matches scheduled for the school’s selected break week across all enrolled esport titles.
Preseason is optional, but participation is strongly recommended! Participation will allow teams an opportunity to have a scheduled opponent for Week 1.

Reminders
Any team that forfeits three (3) or more regular-season matches will not be eligible for Playoffs or Championships.
Playoff start dates & times may vary per league based on factors like bracket size, state league accommodations, broadcast accommodations, or game launch accommodations.
More specific playoff information will be found in PlayVS on your schedule page midway through the regular season.
Due to the length of the period for playoffs to take place before finals, Playoff matches will occur on different days of the week than the regular season.
Winning teams may also be required to play multiple times in a week as they progress through the Playoffs.
