PlayVS and Partnered Leagues

Defining the way your league is structured

There are two types of leagues that schools may compete in: PlayVS & Partnered Leagues

PlayVS Leagues

PlayVS State & Regional leagues are made up of schools typically within the same time zone or region in the United States and Canada. Some states that span multiple time zones may have access to additional leagues to match that time zone during enrollment. Additionally, larger regional leagues may be split into subregional leagues to enhance the competitive experience. Schools can enroll an unlimited number of teams in the PlayVS leagues and are eligible to qualify and compete in an end-of-season tournament.

Partnered Leagues

Partnered leagues are available for our partnered associations & organizations to operate any given title. Partnered leagues are made up of member schools within the same association or organization. Enrollment requirements, available game titles, and match schedules may vary. PlayVS works with all partners to determine the best possible competitive experience for their community.

Exceptions

All leagues are monitored and reviewed to ensure all competitions are healthy and viable. The minimum number of teams needed for a league to be healthy is 20. In the event that there are not enough or too many teams enrolled in a given league, PlayVS will consolidate or expand a league to improve the quality of competition. Any teams moved in this way will be notified of the change immediately.

Prizing

For PlayVS leagues & events, PlayVS will provide prizing for the winner & runner-up teams.

For partnered leagues, prizing will be determined by the partnered organization.
