Scheduling Course Content

For Site Owners, Administrators, and Instructors seeking to schedule and reschedule content from the library and classroom schedule.

Access a Classroom Schedule

To access the schedule for any classroom in Blueprint:

  1. Click Classrooms from the left-hand navigation bar.

  2. Choose the desired classroom.

  3. Select the Schedule tab.

  4. Click Edit Schedule located on the upper right-hand side.

    • Clicking on this option will direct you to the calendar view of the classroom schedule.

While in this view, Instructors and Administrators will have access to several key features, such as the ability to:

  • View key materials such as:

    • Teacher instructions

    • Required materials

    • Lesson objectives

Reschedule

  • Instructors and Administrators can select a new start and end date for their lesson.

Remove Event

  • Removes the scheduled lesson plan for a particular day.

  • Provides flexibility in managing classroom schedules.

  • Allows removal of lessons as needed.


Scheduling Units and Lessons

Two locations to schedule course content into your classroom include:

  • Library

  • Classroom’s schedule

Library

To schedule course content from the Library:

  1. Click library in the left-hand side navigation.

  2. Select the desired content to review the course outline and details.

  3. Click Schedule Course at the top right-hand side of the screen.

    • Clicking on this will trigger a pop-up window where you can choose the classroom and start date for the entire course.

Scheduling the course from this option will place the entire course on the calendar.

If you wish to schedule individual lessons or units from within the course:

  • Scroll down the course page to the specific unit(s) and click Schedule.

  • Access the individual activities within the unit.

    • This will prompt a pop-out window where you can select the class and start date for the specific unit or lesson.

Once you select Schedule, the action will promptly reflect in the classroom's course calendar.

An error message will appear if you try to schedule the same lesson(s) twice into the same classroom.

Classroom’s Schedule

To schedule individual lessons from a classroom’s schedule:

  1. Click Classrooms from the left-hand navigation, then select your desired classroom.

  2. From your classroom, click Edit Schedule on the right side of the screen.

  3. Click the Scheduling button at the top right of the screen to open a dropdown menu.

  4. Click +Schedule Lessons from the dropdown menu. This will open the Lesson Scheduler pop-up window.

  5. Select the desired lesson. Scroll through all the lessons of the course, or use the search bar and filters at the top of the window to narrow your search.

    • If you would like to browse a different course, click the Back button at the bottom right of this window.

  6. Confirm or change the schedule date, then click the purple Schedule button. You will now see the lesson and its activities on the selected date on your classroom calendar.

An error message will appear if you try to schedule the same lesson twice into the same classroom.

To schedule lessons directly from a date’s cell:

  1. Hover over the number at the top of any date’s cell on the Edit schedule page.

  2. Click on the purple plus sign.

  3. Click +Schedule Lessons from the dropdown menu.

  4. Follow the directions from above to complete the process of scheduling a lesson.

  5. Click Save Changes located on the upper right-hand corner of the schedule to save your changes.

If you navigate away from the calendar before saving, your changes will be lost.


Rescheduling Lessons

On the Edit Schedule page:

  1. Position the cursor between any of the calendar squares. A double arrow will appear, allowing you to drag the lesson plan backward or forward to a new square.

  2. After dragging the lesson plan to a new date, a pop-out window labeled Lesson collision warning will appear.

  3. In this window, the Instructor or Administrator will be presented with options to manage any potential conflicts by:

    • Undo: This option allows you to revert the dragged lesson plan back to its original position.

    • Leave as is: Choosing this option will keep the lesson plan in its new position, despite any conflicts with other scheduled events.

    • Reschedule Proceeding Lessons: If there are subsequent lessons affected by the rescheduling, this option enables you to automatically adjust their schedule to avoid conflicts.

  4. Click Save Changes located on the upper right-hand corner of the schedule to save your changes.
