IT Steps - Day of Match

Prevent school network maintenance from interfering with your game days! Share the season schedule and match times with your IT Department!

Setting Up the Match

  1. Log into your PlayVS account.

  2. Locate your matchup in the Schedule, and click “Open Match”

    • If you see “Opponent TBD,” or "Join the Match Queue" your team will need to Join the Match Queue.

    • Once paired up, continue to Step 3.

PlayVS Tip: Say hi to your opponent in PlayVS Lobby Chat!

  3. In the Match Assistant, Click Ready Up.

    • Coaches can make this action up to two hours before match time

    • Team Captains and Students can make this action up to 15 minutes before match time

Throughout the match, both teams must use the Match Assistant to proceed using the tool. If you see “Waiting on Opponent,” let your opponent know in Match Lobby Chat that you are waiting on their selection.

Once both teams Ready Up, the match is ready to begin. If needed, head over to your title’s Match Instructions for a detailed step-by-step guide to creating the lobby and competing in-game.

Substitution Protocol

  1. A Team Member from the substituting team must click the Roster Change Next Game check box during the Submit Results screen.

  2. Enter the results for the game, then click Submit.

  3. Once submitted, the assistant will take both teams back to the Confirm Roster step to make any changes before the next game.

Reset Assistant Protocol

  1. Click Game Settings.

  2. Click Reset Current Game.

Confirmation from both sides is needed to reset the Match Assistant.

Skip Assistant Protocol

This feature will skip the Match Assistant. Player capabilities will be limited, and the Coach must report results manually.

  1. Click Game Settings.

  2. Click Skip Assistant.

  3. Confirm that you want to Skip the Match Assistant.

  4. Continue the match.

Post-Match Process

  • After both teams agree on the final game's result using the PlayVS Match Assistant, the match will be complete, and results will be recorded.

  • Take in-game screenshots at the end of each game for your records.

  • If the Match Assistant is skipped, coaches are responsible for verifying that results have been reported manually.

  • Matches without results will be quarantined and risk a match loss for both teams by default.

  • If the results are inaccurate, contact PlayVS Support for further assistance.

By default, rulebooks overrule game day protocols and match instructions. Please reach out to support if you find any conflicting information.
