Overview

  1. Each team consists of one (1) player.

    • Format: Best of Three

    • Regular season matches between each team will be played in a Best-of-Three (BO3) format. The team to win two matches will be declared the winner. In the event that a single team reaches two wins before the start of a third game, then a third game will not be played. Wins and losses from each match will be added to each team’s regular season standings.

  2. Coaches are encouraged to communicate with their opponents via Match Lobby chat, Discord or other communication methods.

  3. Series will include three games in the regular season and up to five games in the playoffs. Each game will be played using 5 minute quarters.

  4. Games on the PlayVS platform will show up as scheduled, live, quarantined, or completed.

    • Scheduled - The match has been properly created and is waiting to be played at the specified time.

    • Live - The match is currently being played.

    • Quarantined - The match needs to be reviewed by a League Official.

    • Completed - The match correctly ended and stats will be shown.

IT Steps: Day of match (at least 1 hour before)

  1. Restart each console.

  2. Update the patch for the game by logging into NBA 2K on each console. Ensure you give yourself enough time to update so as to not delay the starting time of your match. If running late, make sure to notify your coach and the opposing team.

Setting up the match

  1. Before the match, the home and away team will be designated in the PlayVS match dashboard. The home team is responsible for running the match and setting up the first and third game.

    • Important: Both team's coaches are responsible for inputting match results.

  2. Add your opponent on the opposing team as a friend so you’re able to invite them to the match. Please do not add opponents as Close Friends.

  3. Create the Lobby

    • Initialize NBA 2K23 on your console

    • Navigate to "Play Now"

  • Select "Play with Friends Online"

  • Select your opponent from the list of online friends that appears.

  • Please ensure lobby settings are configured with the specifics below:

Core Settings

  • Game Mode = Private Match

  • Game Style = Superstar

  • Quarter Length = 5 mins.

  • The game will start when both players are ready. Good luck!

Joining the match

Add Your Opponent

From the Playstation home screen, press up on your controller to access the "Function Area". Then navigate to the "Friends" section and open your "Friend Requests" tab.

Look for a friend invitation from your opponent. Once you’ve found them, accept the friend request. Please do not add them as a Close Friend.

Accept the Game Invitation

Once you've accepted the friend request, please allow for a few minutes for your opponent to create the match.

When the lobby is ready, your opponent will send you an invitation through the Playstation Network. Accept the invitation by pressing the Playstation button on your controller.

Note: The invitation will appear regardless of what screen you are accessing on your Playstation. If the invitation does not appear, press the Playstation button on your controller and navigate to your home screen. Use the up arrow to open your "Function Area and navigate to your "Notifications". If you still haven't received your invitation, it may not have been sent yet.

Select Your Team

Confirm you're ready by pressing "X". The match will start once both players have indicated that they are ready. Good luck!
