What is PlayVS Cup?
The PlayVS Cup is a unique opportunity for the best of the best from around the country to face off in a one of a kind high school esports tournament. Teams that win state and regional championships in the Fall and Spring seasons are invited to compete in the PlayVS Cup that takes place each year after the end of the Spring season.
Since the start of PlayVS, we have been able to give away over $700,000 in prizing and scholarships to highlight some of the best high school esports programs in the nation. We look forward to doing both again with this year’s PlayVS Cup.
PlayVS will be contacting State and Regional Champions with information on how to register your teams for the event.
Scholarship Prizes
We have provided over $70,000 in scholarships that are up for grabs this year and will be delivered through our partnerships at Scholarship America. Prizing can be used at any accredited 4-year, 2-year, technical or vocational college. Prizes will be distributed per team. New Nintendo Leagues
For the first time ever, we are happy to announce that teams competing in our Nintendo game leagues will be invited to compete for a PlayVS Cup Title! State and Regional winners from our Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 leagues will have a chance to find out who is the best in the country in the Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate, Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon™ 3 games.
In an effort to give competitors in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate games the best online experience, we’ve split these competitions into East and West leagues. More info will be shared around this split soon!
League of Legends Update
This year, League of Legends will not be offered as a PlayVS Cup title. Given the recent update to Riot’s League of Legends community guidelines, no scholastic organization may host a national championship for their title.
