Competing in the Game
General Rules: All players are expected to adhere to the standards set in the PlayVS Code of Conduct.
In-Game Rules: By default, NHL 25 rules, such as application of in-game penalties, overtime, etc., are all managed in-game by NHL 25.
Event Format: Best-of-1 (Bo1).
Pauses: In addition to the 30-second pauses in between periods, each team is given a single additional pause, up to 30 seconds in length.
Disconnections: The game will automatically close if a player disconnects from the online match. Using the Game Stats page of the post-game screen, the connected player must capture the score and periods remaining in the match when the disconnection occurred.
Once the player can reconnect, the online match must be recreated as closely as possible to when the disconnection occurred.
Players will subtract the periods completed in the match (including the period in which the disconnect occurred) and then complete the remaining time of the original game with the newly created online match.
Once the remaining periods have been completed, players will add the total scores of the two games to determine the winner.
For example:
Player A disconnects in the second period. Player B confirms the score of 2-1, with Player B in the lead. The first two periods are confirmed, but one period remains, so the game is recreated with the same teams as before the disconnect occurred to play out the final third period.
At the end of the first period in the newly created game, the game is tied 1-1. Play is stopped, and the players combine the scores of both games for an overall score of 3-2 for the match, with Player B having more overall goals. Player B has won the match.
Post-Match Process
Take clear pictures and/or in-game screenshots of the HOME and GAME STATS pages at the end of each game for your records before selecting Finish Game.
After both teams agree to the final game's result using the PlayVS Match Assistant, the match will be complete, and results will be recorded.
Matches without results will be quarantined and risk a match loss for both teams by default.
Please reach out to PlayVS Support if you have any questions.
