Overview
Upgrade Arena is back, this time with the popular title Marvel Rivals! In Fall 2025, PlayVS will have the first of two Upgrade Arena events in the scholastic seasons (Spring title to be announced at a later date). This event will be open to teams in the PlayVS network, within the age range of 13-18. Schools will be competing for upgrades to their equipment, with the Top 8, 4, 2 and champions winning various gear from our partners: JBL, Higround, Elgato & AndaSeat.
Eligibility Requirements
At time of entry, playing and awarding of prize, players must be:
At least 13 years and no older than 18 years of age.
Located in the fifty (50) United States (including District of Columbia) or Canada (excluding Quebec).
Be actively enrolled and participating in high school.
Tournament Sign-up
Players must create PlayVS accounts, but only Coaches may enroll a team to participate in this event. To avoid conflicting with the roster requirements of the scholastic season, competing schools must create unique teams to enroll in Upgrade Arena: Marvel Rivals.
To sign-up for the tournament:

Create & enroll your unique team
Click Manage Teams
Click Create Team to create your unique Upgrade Arena team.
Once created, select Events - Fall 2025 and then select Manage Enrollments to enroll.

Add players to your Roster & Bench
Players must connect their Marvel Rivals UID to their account before joining the Qualifier Queue.

Prizes:
Teams become eligible for the first tier of prizing starting in the Quarterfinals.
Teams must participate in the Quarterfinals to be eligible; the six players that compete are eligible (no substitutions)
Prizing is provided by our partners and is not exchangeable for cash or substitutions.
Prizing will be shipped to the eligible schools & distributed at the coach’s discretion.

Rules and Expectations
Rules
Meet eligibility requirements.
Teams must adhere to the Marvel Rivals Rulebook throughout competition.
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win.
A maximum of 1 (one) entry for the tournament.
To be eligible for any prize, players must fully complete each round of participation. For example, if a player participates but does not fully complete a semi-final round, the player will not be eligible for a prize for that round.
Semi-Finals/Top 4 qualifying teams must be able to compete during the broadcast. If a team is unable to participate, another qualifying team will take their place.
Code of Conduct and Expectations
PlayVS
PlayVS will:
Provide direct support to participants completing tasks such as enrollment and account creation.
Provide match-day support to all competing participants.
Schedule all competitions related to the Upgrade Arena tournament.
Publish event standings and results.
Players
Players will:
Ensure they are equipped with the technology necessary to compete in Upgrade Arena tournament matches.
Before, during, and after Upgrade Arena matches played on the PlayVS platform competitions, uphold the PlayVS Stadium Code of Conduct.
PlayVS maintains the right to withhold prizing in the event of a participating team member's violation of the PlayVS Code of Conduct or any other terms of this tournament.

THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“TERMS”) APPLY TO YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE UPGRADE ARENA (“TOURNAMENT”) PROVIDED BY PLAY VERSUS, INC.. AND ITS WEBSITES AND PLATFORMS (“PLAYVS”, “WE” “US” OR “OUR”), INCLUDING ANY CONTENT, FUNCTIONALITY, PRODUCTS, AND SERVICES OFFERED ON OR THROUGH SUCH WEBSITES (COLLECTIVELY, THE “WEBSITE”), WHETHER AS A GUEST OR A REGISTERED USER.
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENTS. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE TOURNAMENTS, YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND AND ABIDE BY THESE TERMS OF SERVICE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO AGREE TO THESE TERMS OF SERVICE, YOU MUST NOT USE THE SERVICES. IN PARTICULAR, WE WANT TO HIGHLIGHT SOME IMPORTANT TERMS, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES IN THESE TERMS. You and PlayVS agree to resolve disputes between us in individual arbitration (not in court). We believe the alternative dispute-resolution process of arbitration will resolve any dispute fairly and more quickly and efficiently than formal court litigation. We explain the process in detail below, but we’ve put this up front (and in caps) because it’s important:
THESE TERMS CONTAINS A BINDING, INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION AND CLASS-ACTION WAIVER PROVISION. IF YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS, YOU AND PLAYVS AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES IN BINDING, INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION AND GIVE UP THE RIGHT TO GO TO COURT INDIVIDUALLY OR AS PART OF A CLASS ACTION.
YOU MUST BE AN ADULT OF THE LEGAL AGE OF MAJORITY AND A UNITED STATES OR CANADIAN CITIZEN (EXCLUDING QUEBEC). Changes to the Terms of Service
We may update these Terms from time to time; you should check this page regularly to take notice of any changes. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.
Intellectual Property Rights
The Services, including all content, features, and functionality thereof, are owned by PlayVS, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
You are permitted to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only or legitimate business purposes related to your role as a current or prospective customer of PlayVS. Except as provided below, you must not copy, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, or transmit any of the material obtained through the Services, or delete, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notices from copies of materials from the Services. However, if you are otherwise in compliance with these Terms, you are permitted to use, elsewhere and on other websites, an unaltered copy of portions of the content that is publicly available on the Website for the limited, non-commercial purpose of discussing such content.
Prohibited Uses
You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
PlayVS has the right but not the obligation to monitor and edit or remove any account. PlayVS also has the right to terminate your access to all or part of the services for any or no reason, including without limitation, any violation of these terms. PlayVS may exercise these rights at any time, without notice or liability to you or any third party.
Limitation of Liability
To the full extent permissible by law, PlayVS will not be liable for any loss of profits or any indirect, incidental, punitive, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with these Terms. These limitations and exclusions regarding damages apply even if any remedy fails to provide adequate compensation.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Any dispute or claim by you arising out of or related to these Terms shall be governed by California law, exclusive of its choice of law rules. For any disputes deemed not subject to binding individual arbitration, as provided in the section immediately below, you and PlayVS agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Superior Court of Los Angeles, California. You and PlayVS agree to waive any jurisdictional, venue, or inconvenient forum objections to such courts (without affecting either party’s rights to remove a case to federal court if permissible), as well as any right to a jury trial. This paragraph will be interpreted as broadly as applicable law.
